Position Summary:
The College of Business (CoB) at Henderson State University invites applicants for an Assistant Professor of Operations Management. Henderson's Business program was initially accredited by AACSB in 1998. The position reports to the Dean of CoB.
This position will contribute to Henderson's mission by teaching operations management and related courses, supporting the development of an AI Certificate program, and engaging students in experiential learning opportunities that prepare them for leadership in an evolving business world.
Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Develop and teach undergraduate and graduate courses in Operations Management, Supply Chain, Logistics, and related areas.
  • Contribute to the design and launch of a new AI-focused certificate, collaborating with faculty across disciplines to integrate AI into business education.
  • Assess and evaluate instruction.
  • Provide academic and career advisement, recruitment, and retention support for students.
  • Facilitate student learning and help students achieve academic success and retention.
  • Engage in scholarly and/or applied research in operations, supply chain, or AI-related business applications.
  • Monitor and continuously improve instruction to ensure student learning outcomes are met at the course, program, and college level.
  • Connect with local business and industry to strengthen partnerships and experiential learning opportunities.
  • Participate in college and university committees.
  • Attend and participate in faculty meetings, commencement ceremonies, and other required events.
  • Engage in professional development in emerging instructional approaches and AI-related applications in business.

Minimum Qualifications:
• An earned doctorate in Operations Management, Supply Chain, Logistics, Business Analytics, or a closely related area from an AACSB-accredited school is required for appointment as Assistant Professor. ABD candidates nearing completion of his/her dissertation will be considered.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Evidence of teaching excellence in operations, supply chain, logistics, or analytics.
• Experience or interest in AI applications in business or curriculum development.
• Refereed publications or demonstrated research potential in operations or AI-related fields.
• Professional business/industry experience.
