Position Summary

Jordan Logistics is seeking an experienced, results-driven CDL-A Operations Manager to oversee daily transportation operations, driver performance, safety compliance, and customer service excellence in a 24/7 trucking environment. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, extensive trucking and logistics experience, and the ability to effectively manage drivers, equipment, and customer expectations while maintaining operational efficiency.

This position requires a hands-on leader who is willing to participate in an on-call rotation, work every other weekend, and cover a driving route when necessary due to driver call-outs or operational emergencies.

Essential Responsibilities
  • Oversee day-to-day transportation and logistics operations.
  • Manage and coach CDL drivers to ensure safe and efficient performance.
  • Monitor dispatch operations, load planning, route execution, and service metrics.
  • Ensure compliance with all DOT, FMCSA, Hours of Service, and company policies.
  • Conduct driver onboarding, training, evaluations, and corrective action when needed.
  • Review and manage ELD systems, safety reports, scorecards, and operational KPIs.
  • Maintain strong communication with customers, drivers, maintenance providers, and leadership.
  • Develop staffing plans and ensure adequate coverage for all shifts.
  • Utilize transportation management systems and technology platforms to drive operational success.
  • Participate in an on-call rotation and provide after-hours support as needed.
  • Work every other weekend to ensure operational coverage.
  • Cover driving assignments when necessary due to driver shortages, call-outs, emergencies, or business needs.
  • Promote a culture of safety, accountability, and operational excellence.
Minimum QualificationsRequired
  • Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL-A) required.
  • Minimum 10 years of trucking, transportation, and logistics experience.
  • Minimum 3 years of leadership or management experience supervising drivers and transportation operations.
  • Strong working knowledge of DOT regulations, FMCSA compliance requirements, Hours of Service, and ELD systems.
  • Ability and willingness to operate commercial vehicles when operationally necessary.
  • Proven ability to lead in a fast-paced, 24/7 transportation environment.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Must be highly technical and proficient with transportation technology, dispatch software, Microsoft Office Suite, ELD systems, GPS tracking systems, and transportation management software (TMS).
  • Ability to analyze operational data and implement performance improvements.
Preferred
  • Amazon Transportation and/or Amazon Freight Partner experience strongly preferred.
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or related field.
  • Experience managing large fleets and multiple shifts.
Schedule Requirements
  • Full-time salaried position.
  • Must be willing to work every other weekend.
  • Must participate in an on-call rotation.
  • Must be available for emergency operational support after normal business hours.
