The Innovation and Development Division (IDD) drives the innovation strategy for the Hubs and Operations, and contributes to the Group's transformation. It is responsible for imagining, developing and incubating new solutions until they are brought to market, particularly when it comes to offers with a high technological content (including digital and IT). IDD gathers more than 3,000 employees from 70 nationalities at 60 sites.
How will you CONTRIBUTE and GROW?
The Logistics Technician will work as part of the logistics team to maintain high performance for all departmental standards including safety, timeliness, quality/accuracy, security and productivity. Responsibilities will include receiving shipments, transferring materials to and from storage locations, packaging and palletizing products, and other tasks necessary to an efficient shipping and warehousing operation. The Logistics Technician must aim to achieve high customer service standards consistently. In addition, this person will also be expected to work proactively on multiple tasks with autonomy. Work schedule is determined by your immediate manager, and is subject to change to meet business needs. Overtime work may be needed periodically.

Job Description
  • Drive a culture of "Do It Safe, Do It Right the First Time" with their actions and their words on a daily basis.
  • Through observation of work area(s), it is alert to and avoids unsafe behaviors and conditions or other hazards. Reports any observed hazards to the supervisor. Strictly adhere to all safety policies including, but not limited to HAZWOPER, Electronic Communications Policy (ECP), and LOTO policies
  • Participate in monthly safety meetings and promote a safe work environment.
  • Safely and efficiently operates their assigned tasks to meet the day-to-day productivity goals of the team.
  • Follow all work processes and work instructions relevant to specific assignments.
  • Prepare cylinders for shipments (Removing Old Labels, Painting, Inspecting/Checking, Wrapping Valve Labeling With Appropriate Information Per Air Liquide And D.O.T Requirements, Barcode Scanning, Loading/unloading On Pallets, Etc)
  • Perform shipping and receiving related ERP transactions via (SAP)
  • Ensure accuracy of all transactions within ERP to ensure accurate data for operational efficiency
  • Prepare shipping paperwork according to Air Liquide Policy and D.O.T regulations.
  • Contact Common Carriers and Air Liquide locations to coordinate delivery and pickup of cylinders, and other materials
  • Ship, Receive, and Deliver supplies, materials and equipment
  • Operate a forklift to load and unload carrier trucks
  • Load and unload sea containers including appropriate blocking and bracing in line with IMO, IMDG, and Customs requirements
  • Maintain Inventory Control records
  • At the end of each shift, employees must update their immediate manager on all completed and pending tasks.
  • Conduct inventory cycle counts
  • Escalates any potential Safety or Quality concerns
  • Maintain a clean, neat, and orderly work area
  • Assist in maintaining the security of the warehouse
  • Comply with all company safety policies and OSHA and MSDS Standards
  • Successfully complete all assigned trainings
  • Ability to roll cylinders- Rolling cylinders requires an individual to tilt a cylinder slightly with one hand, and use the other hand to move the cylinder forward by rolling it
  • Fitness for duty, including but not limited to: ability to lift 50 pounds and have the ability to climb ladders

Required Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 3+ years of relevant industry experience in logistics operations (shipping, receiving, warehouse operations, inventory management)
  • Ability to roll cylinders that weigh up to 200lbs - Rolling cylinders requires an individual to tilt a cylinder slightly with one hand, and use the other hand to move the cylinder forward by rolling it.
  • Ability to work at both ALAM Pennsylvania sites
  • Must be certified to drive a forklift
  • Strong customer service orientation
  • Proven analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Ability to follow all work instructions and safety protocols
  • Ability to understand the properties and hazards associated with chemicals and compressed gases
  • Experience in filing IMO, AES, and ISF
  • Must be a quick learner with the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and maintain focus and adapt to a variety of challenges
  • Must be organized with attention to detail and ability to follow directions to meet deadlines
  • Must have good written and verbal communication skills and be very capable of regular interaction with all support departments
  • Computer literate with experience using Microsoft office including Outlook, Word and Excel
  • Computer literate with Google Docs, Sheets, & Slides
  • Knowledge of 49 CFR, 15 CFR, DOT, IATA, and IMDG regulations
  • Perform all required trainings as they are assigned
  • Ability to roll cylinders- Rolling cylinders requires an individual to tilt a cylinder slightly with one hand, and use the other hand to move the cylinder forward by rolling it
  • Fitness for duty, including but not limited to: ability to lift 50 pounds and have the ability to climb ladders
  • Work Conditions:
    • Maintain a clean, neat, and orderly work area
    • Assist in maintaining the security of the warehouse
    • Ensure that no alarms or interlocks are bypassed
    • Conduct operations in a manner that promotes safety.
    • Comply with all company safety policies and OSHA and MSDS Standards
  • Physical Qualifications:
    • Must be able to move around a large warehouse for 8 or more hours in a fast-paced environment
    • Must be able to repetitively lift up to 50 pounds on a regular basis
    • Ability to climb ladders
    • Significant manual dexterity for keying in data for long periods of time
    • Must be clean shaven, able to medically pass a respiratory test and a physical test in order to wear a full face respirator as required.

Preferred Qualifications:
Prior industrial gas experience.
