Job description

OVERVIEW:  

At Alo, our focus is on our associate culture, customer promise, quality and safety. The Warehouse Security Manager is responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing all physical security, asset protection, and loss prevention programs within the warehouse and distribution center. This role ensures the safety of employees, visitors, inventory, and company assets by managing security personnel, maintaining security systems, investigating incidents, and ensuring compliance with company policies and applicable regulations. 

RESPONSIBILITES:  

Security Operations 

  • Develop and implement warehouse security policies, procedures, and emergency response plans. 
  • Manage daily security operations, including access control, visitor management, and perimeter security. 
  • Monitor security systems, including CCTV, alarm systems, badge access, and intrusion detection systems. 
  • Conduct regular security audits, risk assessments, and facility inspections. 
  • Ensure compliance with company security standards and applicable federal, state, and local regulations. 

Asset Protection & Loss Prevention 

  • Develop strategies to minimize theft, fraud, shrinkage, and inventory loss. 
  • Investigate security incidents, thefts, workplace violence, and policy violations. 
  • Coordinate with Human Resources, Operations, and Legal on investigations and corrective actions. 
  • Maintain accurate incident reports and recommend corrective measures. 
  • Analyze security trends and identify opportunities to improve asset protection. 

Team Leadership 

  • Supervise, schedule, and evaluate security officers or contracted security personnel. 
  • Recruit, train, and mentor security staff. 
  • Conduct regular security briefings and training for warehouse employees. 
  • Ensure security personnel maintain professional standards and follow company procedures. 

Emergency Preparedness 

  • Lead emergency response efforts for fire, medical emergencies, severe weather, and other critical incidents. 
  • Coordinate evacuation procedures and emergency drills. 
  • Maintain relationships with local law enforcement, fire departments, and emergency responders. 
  • Participate in business continuity and disaster recovery planning. 

Compliance & Reporting 

  • Ensure compliance with OSHA, workplace safety policies, and company security requirements. 
  • Prepare reports on incidents, investigations, security metrics, and performance. 
  • Manage security-related vendor relationships and service contracts. 
  • Recommend and manage security technology upgrades and capital improvement projects. 

QUALIFICATIONS: 

  • Bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice, Security Management, Business Administration, or a related field, or equivalent work experience. 
  • 5+ years of experience in security management, loss prevention, law enforcement, military, or warehouse security. 
  • 2+ years of leadership or supervisory experience. 
  • Experience managing CCTV, access control, alarm systems, and security technologies. 
  • Strong investigative, analytical, and report-writing skills. 
  • Excellent communication and conflict-resolution abilities. 
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and security management software. 
  • Certified Protection Professional (CPP), Physical Security Professional (PSP), Certified Security Project Manager (CSPM), or similar certification. 
  • Experience in a high-volume distribution center or logistics environment. 
  • Knowledge of OSHA regulations and supply chain security best practices. 
  • Experience working with third-party security providers.
