Livestock Nutrition Center specializes in blending customized rations, supplements and premixes to meet the specific nutritional needs of Livestock Producer's operations. We understand that management, performance objectives and feeding practices can be vastly different between operations, and that these differences dictate specific nutritional or formulation requirements. Our experienced sales staff and nutritionist will work with the Producer to design a feeding program that is specific to their operation.

Position Summary
Livestock Nutrition Center is seeking to hire a motivated, full-time Logistics Specialist whose primary focus will be to provide logistical, administrative, and customer service support to the Commodity Merchandising team. This role will be providing a high level of customer service with both customers and suppliers. The Logistics Specialist will assist with providing logistical support including scheduling freight & maximizing efficiency with both truck and rail shipments. In addition, they will serve in an administrative capacity by conducting daily data entry into our contract management system.
Responsibilities & Duties
  • Provide exceptional customer service internally and externally.
  • Provide logistical support to Merchandisers with truck, rail, and barge shipments.
  • Daily data entry into contract management system. This includes creating new sales and purchase contracts, inputting truck, rail and barge shipment data, and maintaining accurate contract balances.
  • Assist in the development and maintenance of reports out of contract management system.
  • Scheduling inbound/outbound ingredient deliveries on both company and commercial vehicles.
  • Exceed customer and supplier's expectations on timely and courteous service.
  • Communicate daily with local rail service for both inbound and outbound shipments.
  • Assist with phone activity in high call volume periods. If necessary, reroute calls to the appropriate party and/or take and deliver messages.
  • Assist in additional office duties as assigned.
Requirements and Qualifications
  • High school degree required. 2-year Associates degree preferred.
  • Truck scheduling and rate negotiation experience preferred.
  • Must have excellent communication skills and provide superior customer service.
  • Must have ability to multitask.
  • Excellent organizational and analytical skills.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to work well both independently and in a team-oriented environment.
  • Must have high level of computer skills.
  • Agricultural experience preferred.
