ABOUT THE ROLE

The Logistics Supervisor (Day Shift) leads a dynamic team that fulfills orders to meet and exceed customer expectations. This position will foster positive working relationships with internal and external customers and respond proactively to performance concerns, discipline, employee complaints, and other matters related to employee relations. Such duties include verifying all orders leaving the facility, completing shipping documents, and ensuring safe, efficient product handling and storage while upholding Malarkey's quality standards.

WHAT YOU'LL ACCOMPLISH

  • Maintains a safe and clean working environment by enforcing procedures, rules, and regulations for the warehouse department. Reviews the production schedule and monitors production for finished-goods space utilization and order fulfillment.
  • Monitors plant and warehouse space daily to ensure FIFO methodology is followed with raw materials and shipment of finished goods.
  • Ensures all products are stored and handled in the safest, cleanest, most organized, and cost-effective method possible.
  • Supervises the unloading/loading of raw and finished goods and is responsible for good communication between material suppliers, plant personnel, and customers.
  • Promotes a sense of urgency to all past due orders.
  • Works closely with various departments in the company, including customer service, production, sales, quality, and accounting.
  • Supervises the team responsible for receiving purchase orders, packing out sales orders, and completing transfer orders.
  • Conduct physical inventory counts of finished goods and ensure proper standard operating procedures are in place for inventory counts.
  • Supervises employees, plans and assigns work, adjusts schedules to meet production requirements, analyzes and resolves work problems, and inspects materials to verify conformance with standards.
  • Hires, evaluates, and trains warehouse employees by coaching and providing regular performance feedback, administers discipline, training, and development, and approves time

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

Education: Associate degree required, Bachelor's degree preferred.

Field of Study Preferred: Management, Engineering, Business, or a related field

Required Work Experience: At least three years of supervisory and supply chain, logistics, or transportation experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Additional Requirements:

  • Thorough knowledge and experience with warehouse and supply chain functions.
  • Must be able to excel in a deadline-oriented environment and demonstrate a high level of competence in organizing and prioritizing multiple work assignments.
  • Ability to deal effectively with a diversity of individuals at all organizational levels.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently within interpretive guidelines, take initiative, and perform effectively in a fast-paced and constantly changing environment.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills; strong interpersonal skills and ability to influence; creative problem solving; great team player.
  • Excellent communication and computer skills, including MS Word, Excel, and G-Suite.
  • Ability to identify and manage conflict.
  • Successful candidates must adhere to all safety protocols and proper use of Amrize-approved Personal Protection Equipment (PPE), including but not limited to respirators. Employees who are required to wear respirators must be clean-shaven where the respirator seal meets the face in order to pass the qualitative and quantitative fit tests.
