The Job
The Critical Facilities Technician (CFT)is responsible forall aspects of data center operations related to critical and non-critical infrastructure, equipment, and systems. They willparticipatein an unwavering attitude and commitment to safety and reliability within the Data Center. The CFT will drive continual improvementsin the data center's operational excellenceby adhering to company standards andindustry'sbest practices.
Responsibilities
Operate andmaintaincritical and non-critical data center infrastructure, equipment, and systems.
Work with a team of CFTs to deliver total availability (100% uptime) while minimizing risks.
Monitor power, cooling capacity, and environmental conditions within the data halls.
Utilize a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) as a tool to manage all planned and unplanned data center work.
Perform preventive maintenance on data center electrical and mechanical equipment.
Assistwith the development, revision, and execution of approximately 200 operating procedures and preventive maintenance inspections, and perform quality control reviews to ensure accuracy, clarity, and continual improvement.
Assistwith the development of Data Center standards and policies when necessary.
Resolveminorelectrical and mechanical issues within thedatacenter quickly while minimizing risk andproperlycommunicatingissues to theappropriate chainof command.
Respond to emergencies and critical issues as necessary and work independently and as a team, according to staffing and situation, towards complete recovery.
Troubleshoot and document technical issues,escalateasappropriate, and ensure issue resolution.
Assistwith planning on corrective issues.
Assistand/or complete physical and logical installations.
Maintainaccuratefacility data, includingrounds,preventativemaintenancework orders, change management, etc.
Maintain strict adherence to change control activities.
Manage assigned workflow taskstoprovidetimelyturnaround.
Escort and work effectively with outside contractors,ensuringthey are abiding by critical facility work rules.
Complete facility rounds at the beginning of each shift to ensure data center andgroundsupkeep.
Participate in facility training programsregularly.
Assistin facility operations, asrequired.
Participate in construction and commissioning, as directed by the CFM.
Work shifts to support 247 data centeroperationandhave flexibility in work hours to cover other shifts.On-callemergency support asrequired.
Adherentto all federal and local safety laws.
Foster open, respectful, and professional communication directly within the team as well as with co-workers/ teammates and leaders across the organization.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
High school diploma/GEDrequired.
1+year(s)ofexperience in Mission Critical Environmentsisrequired.
Musthave a valid driver's license.
Willingness and ability to follow guidance from other staffmembersandmanagementrequired.
Basic understanding of email andMSoffice softwarerequired.
A positive and professional attitudeis alwaysrequired,andvery highattention to detail isrequired.
Priormilitary or technical school training, preferred.
Electrical or mechanical license, preferred.
Ability to work autonomously with minimal supervision and in a team environmentpreferred.
Experienced inoperatinga variety of equipment, includinglawnmowers, forklifts, scissor lifts, and small hand toolspreferred.

Work Environment
This joboperatesin a data center, office, and shop environment. This role routinely uses standard maintenance equipment, including ladders, scissor lifts, forklifts, power tools, and voltmeters. While performing these duties, the employee will be exposed to hot and cold environments.
Physical Demands
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit, stand, walk, use hands, andliftup to 50 pounds.
