Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site position based in Lake Elsinore, CA, for a Project Geologist. The Project Geologist will be responsible for conducting geological fieldwork, overseeing drilling operations, logging subsurface materials, performing geological mapping, and utilizing geophysical methods. The role also involves preparing detailed technical reports, assessing geological data, and providing geotechnical recommendations to clients.
Qualifications
- Experience with Field Work, Logging, and Geological Mapping
- Proficiency in Geophysics and Drilling techniques
- Strong technical writing and reporting skills
- Ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams
- Proficiency in using geological and mapping software
- Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to various project sites
- Bachelor's degree in Geology, Geosciences, or a related field; a Master’s degree is a plus
- Professional Geologist (PG) license is preferred
Responsibilities
- Perform field investigations including drilling observation, logging, and sampling
- Conduct site reconnaissance and geologic mapping
- Assist with slope stability evaluations and earthwork recommendations
- Prepare geotechnical and geologic reports under senior staff supervision
- Review lab and field data and support engineering analyses
- Coordinate with project managers, subcontractors, and field personnel
- Provide construction-phase support including grading and site observations
- Prepare client proposals
