Job description

Job Title: Delivery Driver / Shop Associate

S.A. Comunale is seeking a Delivery Driver / Shop Associate. This position will be working with the Delivery Driver and Branch Manager to assist in transporting materials and equipment to specific construction job sites as well as keeping organization and of the shop and office area.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Verifies and secures loads.
  • Inspects truck for defects before and after trips and submits report indicating truck condition.
  • Drives truck to assigned destination(s) when needed.
  • Assists workers in unloading and loading trucks when required.
  • Maintains truck log according to state and federal regulations.
  • Performs emergency roadside repairs such as changing tires, installing light bulbs, fuses, etc. when needed.
  • Monitor and keep the shop / shop yard clean of all debris.
  • Sorts and places materials or items on racks, shelves or in bins according to predetermined sequence.
  • Maintains cleanliness for shop/warehouse, storage yard, parking lot as needed.
  • Maintains cleanliness for office area consistently as needed.
  • Delivers and picks up permit applications, permits, and approved drawings when needed.
  • Must be able to work OT and off hour shifts if required.
  • Restock returned material.
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED is required.
  • 2+ years of delivery driving or related work experience is required.
  • Vocational or industry trade school is a plus.
  • Possession of a current DOT Medical Card or willingness to obtain is required.
  • Valid driver's license with driving record that meets or exceeds Company standards found in the Fleet Policy is required.
  • Previous experience operating a forklift is required.
  • Able to lift a minimum of 75 pounds is required.
  • Average experience with Microsoft Office (i.e., Word and Excel) applications is required.
