Job description

All Medical Personnel - Nursing is seeking a travel nurse RN Oncology for a travel nursing job in Rochester, New York.

Travel RN Oncology

Rochester, NY

What You’ll Do:

  • Manage a full patient load, providing outpatient infusion therapy—including chemotherapy, monoclonals, and other hematology/oncology treatments.
  • Educate patients and families at the chairside about their treatment plans.
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
  • Utilize electronic medical records and infusion pump technologies to deliver safe, effective care.
  • Maintain compliance with safety and regulatory standards, including ONS chemotherapy/immunotherapy certification.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • 2–3 years of recent infusion experience, preferably in outpatient clinics.
  • Strong vascular access, port access, and IV skills.
  • Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association.
  • ONS chemotherapy and immunotherapy certification.
  • Experience with Epic EMR and Alaris infusion pumps.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and manage a full patient case load.
  • Excellent communication skills for patient, family, and team interactions.
  • Current, valid licensure as a Registered Nurse in the state.

Nice to Have Skills:

  • Outpatient clinic experience.
  • Experience with monoclonal and biologic agents.
  • Prior work in a community-based oncology practice.

Preferred Education & Experience:

  • Current, unencumbered nursing license in the state.
  • Proven experience in outpatient infusion and oncology settings.

Other Requirements:

  • Must be available Monday through Friday, 8:00 am to 4:30 pm.
  • No weekends, holidays, or on-call responsibilities.
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Physical ability to perform infusion procedures and patient care activities.
