Job description

A healthcare facility in northwestern Ohio, near Evansport, is seeking a skilled Cardiothoracic Surgeon for a locum tenens assignment. This position is ideal for a dedicated, board-certified Cardiothoracic Surgeon looking to make an impact in a high-quality care setting. The position spans from December 2024 to June 2025, with 24/7 coverage needs shared alongside the full-time surgical team.

Position Overview: Join a reputable facility offering comprehensive cardiothoracic surgical services, including coronary artery bypass grafting (CABG) and heart valve surgeries. This role requires 24/7 on-call coverage and collaboration with an experienced team of physician assistants and hospital staff, using the EPIC electronic medical records system. The facility supports a range of cardiothoracic procedures with a robust surgical infrastructure, including 12 operating rooms and a hybrid OR.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide cardiothoracic surgical care with an emphasis on coronary artery bypass surgery (CABG) and heart valve repair/replacement.
  • Handle approximately 1-2 cases per day on average.
  • Participate in 24/7 on-call coverage, with a requirement of 10-14 days per month.
  • Engage in hospital rounds, clinic consultations, and call-back services as needed.

Mandatory Requirements:

  • Board Certified in Cardiothoracic Surgery
  • Active Ohio License (or willingness to obtain)
  • Fellowship Training in Cardiothoracic Surgery
  • BLS and ACLS Certification
