Job description

Ultrasound Tech/Sonographer

Job Title: Ultrasound Tech/Sonographer

Profession: Ultrasound Tech/Sonographer

Must-Have: Certification in hand prior to submission, knowledge of anatomy and pathology with the ability to recognize normal from abnormal findings, basic scanning skills with a good understanding of sonographic physics and techniques, clinical experience in a hospital or acute care setting with some exposure to general, vascular, and OB-GYN sonography

Description: Monday to Thursday shifts available. MUST HAVE NH LICENSE. Certification must be obtained prior to application. The unit has 4 ultrasound rooms. There are 14 staff members in total. Day shift consists of 4 sonographers plus a supervisor. Second shift has 1 sonographer staffed after 7:30 PM. Night shift has 1 sonographer staffed. Patient ratios are 8-10 in an 8-hour shift. Equipment includes Siemens Acuson S200 and GE Logiq E10. EMR system is Allscripts with PACS-InteleRad. Patient population ranges from pediatric to geriatric. Candidates with a year of experience with a wide array of ultrasound types will be preferred. A good track record with past employers and positive references is essential. Clinical experience is required for this role. Preferred qualifications include additional certifications such as RVT and OB-GYN. Experience in the operating room with ultrasound procedures is advantageous. Typical procedures performed include thoracenteses, paracenteses, FNAs of various glands and masses, biopsies, and drainages. The ideal candidate will be hard-working, motivated, and able to work both independently and as part of a team. Compassionate patient care and a willingness to adhere to departmental policies are essential. Weekends are covered by weekend staff, and there is no on-call requirement. Attendance and PTO request policies must be followed, along with strict adherence to exam protocols.
