Interventional Radiology Technologist

Job Title: Interventional Radiology Technologist

Profession: Radiology / Cardiology

Specialty: Interventional Radiology

Duration: 13 weeks

Shift: Day

Hours per Shift: 8 hours

Experience: 2 years of clinical interventional imaging experience required

License: State Licensed Radiographer required

Certifications: ARRT (R), BLS - AHA only required

Must-Have: Graduate of a School of Radiologic Technology, Trauma Level II experience required

Strongly preferred: Trauma Level I experience

Preferred charting system experience: Epic

Preferred skills: Accessing/Managing Ports, Central Venous Access, Chest Tube Placement, Computed Tomography, Embolization, Fluoroscopy, Gastroscopy Tube Placement, IVC filter removal, Interventional Radiology, Sterile Technique, Thoracentesis, TIPS

Description: Days, 8-hour shifts, with start times between 7 AM - 10 AM, Monday to Friday. Traveler will be assigned 4x10-hour shifts on weeks when holidays occur. No weekends or holidays. Possible standby, if needed. Patient acuity will range from outpatient, inpatient, and trauma cases. Experience in neuro (stroke) preferred, but not mandatory. Work collaboratively with physicians and nurses in Vascular Interventional. Utilize multiple imaging modalities for diagnostic and interventional purposes including Fluoroscopy, Ultrasound, CT, and MR. Provide imaging for inpatient, outpatient, pediatric, and intra-operative patients while applying critical thinking skills. Experience with GE and Siemens equipment preferred but not essential. Travelers are required to float as needed. Minimum experience: 2 years of acute care experience within the last 3 years in the specialty applied for. Pass/fail testing will be administered with strict passing criteria prior to start. A telemetry exam is required; passing score of 80% or higher on both adult and pediatric sections is mandatory. If the traveler fails to pass after three attempts, the assignment will be canceled.
