Locum Radiologist Opportunity in Hartford, CT

Location: Hartford, CTPosition Type: Locum | Physician – Diagnostic Radiology

Overview

Busy Diagnostic Radiology department in Hartford, CT is seeking locum Radiologists for a 3–6 month assignment starting March 21, 2026, with the option to extend as needs require. This role supports 24/7 diagnostic reading coverage in a high-volume Trauma I environment with hospital-based and remote workflow options.

Practice Highlights
  • Hospital-based with some remote reading

  • Hybrid schedule preferred

  • Very busy Diagnostic Radiology department

  • Trauma Level I facility

  • Full support staff available

  • Patient population includes neonates, adolescents, adults, and geriatrics (rare pediatrics)

  • EMR/Systems: EPIC, PowerScribe, PACS

Candidate Requirements
  • Board Certified or Board Eligible in Diagnostic Radiology (ABR or AOBR) – REQUIRED

  • Valid Connecticut medical license (or eligibility) – REQUIRED

  • DEA registration and state-controlled substance certification (or eligibility) – REQUIRED

  • BLS – REQUIRED | ACLS optional based on subspecialty

  • Self-Query NPDB (pulled within 30 days) – REQUIRED at presentation

  • Fellowship training in a radiology subspecialty (Neuro, Cardiac, etc.) – Highly Preferred

  • Ability to read CT, US, and MRI independently

  • Proficiency with PACS, PowerScribe, and modern radiology IT platforms

  • Experience in high-volume, integrated health system environments

  • Strong collaboration skills with multidisciplinary teams

  • Comfortable with hybrid onsite/remote workflows

  • Commitment to quality, safety, and patient-centered care

Schedule & Coverage
  • Start Date: March 21, 2026 (12:00 AM)

  • Assignment Length: 3–6 months, extension possible

  • 24/7 diagnostic reading coverage

  • Two providers per shift

  • Shifts include:

    • Morning

    • Afternoon

    • Night

    • Overnight

  • No traditional call coverage

  • Estimated credentialing timeframe: 90–120 days (with completed applications)
