Job description

Registered Nurse

This position is in an ambulatory/outpatient setting. The unit focuses on various oncology diagnoses, including prostate cancer, head and neck cancers, breast cancers, metastatic disease, lung cancer, brain tumors, skin cancers, lymphoma, and mesothelioma. Candidates should possess skills in peripheral IV insertion and power port access. They should also be knowledgeable in contrast infusion during CT procedures and triaging for potential contrast reactions. Additionally, the role requires assessing and educating patients regarding radiation side effects. Nurse-to-patient ratios are designed to ensure quality care. There is no requirement for the nurse to titrate drips, as common drips are set rates. The charge nurse does not take patient assignments, allowing them to oversee the unit effectively. There are no weekend or holiday requirements, and no on-call or standby requirements. Self-scheduling is not offered, and there is no floating between units. The dress code allows for any color scrubs with solid color pants. The charting system utilized is Cerner. BLS certification is required for this role.
