They provide the same range of primary care services as permanent GPs, such as diagnosing illnesses, prescribing medication, and offering health advice. Locum GPs are often hired to cover staff shortages, vacations, or maternity leaves, and may work in various locations. This flexibility allows them to gain experience in different environments and manage their own schedules. Their role is essential in maintaining continuous patient care within the healthcare system.
