Job description

Position Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Non-Invasive Cardiologist for a locum tenens opportunity near Wayland, Michigan. This position involves inpatient cardiology consultation and rounding services with no on-call responsibilities, providing a balanced work-life schedule. This opportunity spans January through June 2025, with potential for extension.

Key Position Details:

  • Location: Michigan (Near Wayland)
  • Role: Locum Tenens Non-Invasive Cardiologist
  • Duration: January 2025 - June 2025, with possible extension
  • Shifts: 7 days on, 7 days off, 7 AM to 5 PM
  • On-Call: None

Responsibilities:

  • Inpatient cardiology consultation rounds
  • Work alongside a local Advanced Practice Provider (APP) for support 7 days a week
  • Responsible for evaluating and responding to cardiology consults
  • Approximate daily rounds of 24 patients, averaging six new consults daily
  • Procedures required:
    • Treadmill stress tests
    • Echocardiography (including transesophageal)
    • Electrical cardioversions
    • Electrocardiograms (EKGs)
    • Chemical stress tests
    • Tilt table tests

Position Requirements:

  • Board Certified in Non-Invasive Cardiology Required
  • Active Michigan Medical License or willingness to obtain Required
  • ACLS Certification Required
  • Familiarity with EPIC EMR system is beneficial but not mandatory

Facility & Support:

  • Advanced, energy-efficient facility with state-of-the-art technology
  • 348 total beds, including 30 ICU beds
  • Level II Trauma designation
  • Collaborative team of eight cardiologists, providing strong peer support

Patient Demographics:

  • Primarily adult and geriatric populations
  • Full-service OB on-site; pediatric cases transferred to specialized facilities as needed

Compensation & Reimbursements:

  • Competitive hourly rate with potential additional rates for holiday and overtime shifts
  • Travel reimbursements including flight, hotel, rental car, and mileage at IRS standard rate
  • Note: Credentialing fees are not reimbursed
