Job description

Standard Job Description Performs in a collaborative environment to develop and implement manufacturing processes, procedures and production layouts for assemblies, equipment installation, processing, fabrication, and material handling. Drives adoption of new technologies and processes (automation, robotics, computer aided manufacturing software, etc.) to achieve greater efficiency, cost reduction and quality improvement. Creates and analyzes 3D based model data environment to optimize manufacturing process and digital work instructions

Leverages understanding of materials and automatic processes to define operations procedures and build sequences to drive operational excellence. Evaluates performance (including IoT devices, etc.) of equipment and tools to verify their efficiency and investigates and initiates corrective action of problems and deficiencies to ensure operational excellence. Leverages factory data to develop statistical process control approaches and integrates reporting and data analytics solutions for continuous improvement

Provides input to product design regarding design concepts and specification requirements to best utilize equipment and manufacturing techniques. You will be the Manufacturing Engineer Lockheed Martin Missiles & Fire Control in Chelmsford, MA. Our team is responsible for designing, fabricating, and qualifying microwave hybrid assemblies that support critical aerospace and defense programs.

What You Will Be Doing As the Manufacturing Engineer you will be responsible for defining processes, troubleshooting hardware, and ensuring regulatory compliance. Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to: Gain an understanding of all assembly techniques and materials used to produce microwave hybrids including substrate and die epoxy attach as well as wire bonding. You should have experience with J-STD-001 solder assembly, conductive epoxy attach of substrates and semiconductor die, gold wedge and ball-bonding, and seal / hermeticity testing.

You'll design the sequence of operations and specify procedures for the fabrication of tooling and other functions that affect product performance. You will inspect performance of machinery, equipment, and tools to verify their efficiency. You'll investigate hardware failures and initiate corrective action of problems and deficiencies to ensure product quality.

The selected candidate must be able to obtain a Secret clearance within one year of start date. Basic Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related engineering discipline from an accredited college or university. Must be a US citizen with ability to obtain and maintain a Secret Security Clearance within one year of start date.
