Lockheed Martin is the prime contractor building the Orion Multi-Purpose Crew Vehicle, NASA's first spacecraft crafted for long-duration, human-rated deep space exploration. Orion will transport humans to interplanetary destinations beyond low Earth orbit to the moon, eventually Mars, and return them safely back to Earth.
Lockheed Martin Space is seeking a full-time Associate Program Quality Engineer. In this role, you will work as a Quality Engineer supporting the Orion Human Space Flight program at Kennedy Space Center ensuring the reprocessing, refurbishment and testing of all reuse hardware meets quality requirements; Work with the experienced Quality Engineering team to develop, modify, apply, and maintain quality evaluation and control systems and protocols for processing materials into partially finished or finished material products and review and approve of Drawing Problem Reports, Changes Task, Test Procedure reviews, manufacturing work instructions reviews and PO closure activities.
Additionally in this role you will be performing the tasks below:
- Collaborates with engineering and manufacturing functions to ensure quality standards are in place.
- Devises and implements methods and procedures for inspecting, testing, and evaluating the precision and accuracy of products and production equipment.
- Designs and analyzes inspection and testing processes, mechanisms and equipment; conducts quality assurance tests; and performs statistical analysis to assess the cost of and determine the responsibility for, products or materials that do not meet required standards and specifications.
- Audit quality systems for deficiency identification and correction. Ensures that corrective measures meet acceptable reliability standards and that documentation is compliant with requirements.
