Standard Job Description
Lockheed Martin Aeronautics is seeking an Aeronautical Engineer Sr Stf to support the Fort Worth Thermodynamics team and continue our tradition of creativity in aircraft design and development.
What You Will Be Doing
The Aeronautical Engineer Sr Stf will support F-35, Integrated Fighter Group (IFG), and Advanced Development Programs (ADP) Lines of Business in these areas of technical competencies:
  • Thermal Structural Analysis
  • Bay Ventilation Analysis
  • Environmental Control Systems (ECS), Power and Thermal Management Systems (PTMS)
  • Thermal Management Systems (TMS)
  • Thermal Avionics Integration, Test, and Qualification

As a thermodynamics technical lead, the Aeronautical Engineer Sr Stf will be responsible for:
  • Owning technical integrity for analysis of complex problems involving heat transfer and thermodynamics
  • Mentoring junior team members in thermal analysis and thermodynamics tools and best practices
  • Implementing standard work practices. Tailor processes to program needs
  • Managing team tasking to ensure program performance is met
  • Serving as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) for critical, high impact issues and long term goals. Also serving as the team's spokesperson on advanced projects related to Thermodynamics.

Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college in Aeronautical, Aerospace or Mechanical engineering or a related discipline.
  • 8+ years of experience applying thermal science principles, tools, and processes in real world engineering or research environment

Desired Skills
  • Proficiency with the following analysis software:
    • MATLAB/Simulink
    • Siemens Amesim
    • Siemens Simcenter 3D Thermal
    • Thermal Desktop
    • Siemens Simcenter FloEFD
  • Proficiency writing the following programming languages:
    • Python
    • Fortran
    • C++
  • Experience with test engineering, instrumentation, data collection, and/or test reports
  • Demonstrated success shaping and leading a team in a dynamic business environment
  • Demonstrated ability to interact effectively with customers and senior management
  • Familiar with development of engineering methods and software
  • Strong organizational, planning and time management skills
  • Ability to manage, coach, train and motivate team in technical and leadership development
  • Strong presentation skills and ability to address complex matters / solutions with senior leadership
  • Advanced degree in Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering.
  • Active Secret Clearance

Pay Information
Full-Time Salary Range: $129000.00 - $239600.00

Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.
