YOUR OPPORTUNITY

We have an exciting Security Guard opportunity in our Processing Plant The Security responsible for providing a safe and secure work environment for all Seaboard Foods plant employees and Company property. Ensure all employees/guests entering the facility have proper authority to enter the facility. Secures and monitors the entire facility during and after business hours in accordance with corporate and security guidelines policies and procedures. Performs all duties assigned by the Security Supervisor or any member of management. The position must have a full understanding, ability to practice, and ensure that company policies and procedures and state or federal laws are always followed.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide prompt and courteous services; maintain a professional appearance and a neat work environment.
  • Advise the Safety Supervisor and/or senior management of all serious complaints or incidences.
  • Inspect the fence line (if applicable) for indications of unauthorized entry or potential security risks.
  • Ensure the plant facility and grounds are secured at established times. Note any security, safety or fire hazards.
  • Secure gates at established times and patrol property.
  • Ensure proper follow-through on all directives and bulletins. Maintain a good flow of communication with other plant management.
  • Monitor and control all facility conditions, vehicles, property, and equipment within plant Ens.
  • Ensures area conditions do not threaten employee or customer safety. Respond to and follow proper procedures on employee and customer accidents, injuries and loss or damage to any property. Report all incidents to the Safety Manager immediately. Practice proper loss prevention and reaction procedures. Report all incidents properly and immediately.
  • Account for and identify all keys, codes or other safety or security information.
  • Responsible for all administrative duties required of the position.
  • Security Services
    • Escort suspended and/or terminated employees to the male locker room to retrieve personal belongings.
    • Escort suspended and/or terminated employees out of the building.
    • When requested, ensure the male locker room is clear of employees when male maintenance employees need to enter.
    • Assist male employees in opening lockers when the combination is forgotten or a locker has to be changed.
    • Perform daily male locker rounds to ensure compliance with locker room procedures.

REQUIREMENTS

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty/function satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the work environment, knowledge, skills, and/or ability required or preferred.   • Associate degree (A.A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school preferred; or two to four years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience in either safety or security.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents in the English language such as safety files, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Bilingual skills preferred.

BONA FIDE OCCUPATIONAL QUALIFICATION (BFOQ):Due to the nature of our facilities, we require a Male Security Guard who can enter male locker rooms when necessary. This BFOQ is essential for maintaining privacy and ensuring a safe environment for all.

WORK ENVIRONMENT: While performing the duties of this job, the employee works outside frequently and near moving vehicles.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS: The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move more than 100 pounds and sometimes push and/or move up to 300 pounds. Must be able to walk throughout the day and be able to stand for extended periods at a time. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
