Cedarville, NJ | Local Position | Full-Time | 40+ Hours Per Week

$32.00–$36.00 Per Hour (DOE)

Byers Industrial Services, headquartered in Franklinville, New Jersey, is seeking an experienced Journeyman Plumber to support the rehabilitation of a large industrial facility located in Cedarville, NJ.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a rapidly growing industrial contractor with a strong pipeline of work and long-term career opportunities. We are looking for a skilled professional who can troubleshoot, repair, install, and maintain commercial and industrial plumbing systems while working independently with minimal supervision.

This is NOT an apprentice or helper position. We are seeking a true journeyman capable of making field decisions, solving problems, and delivering high-quality workmanship from day one.

Compensation

• $32.00–$36.00 per hour (DOE)
• 40+ Hours Per Week
• Full-Time Employment
• No Per Diem – Local Candidates Only

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot, diagnose, repair, and maintain commercial and industrial plumbing systems.
• Install, repair, replace, and modify domestic water, sanitary, storm, drain, waste, vent, compressed air, and process piping systems.
• Perform plumbing repairs, renovations, and system upgrades throughout an existing industrial facility.
• Read and interpret blueprints, plumbing drawings, P&IDs, schematics, and project specifications.
• Install, repair, and replace valves, pumps, fixtures, water heaters, backflow preventers, cleanouts, floor drains, and associated plumbing equipment.
• Perform layout, fabrication, cutting, threading, grooving, and installation of various piping systems.
• Conduct pressure testing and operational testing to verify proper system operation.
• Diagnose plumbing deficiencies and determine the most effective repair solutions while minimizing downtime.
• Safely operate hand tools, power tools, pipe threaders, grooving machines, and other plumbing equipment.
• Coordinate work with electricians, millwrights, pipefitters, welders, and other skilled trades.
• Maintain accurate documentation of repairs, modifications, and completed work.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment while following OSHA regulations and company safety standards.

Minimum Qualifications

• Journeyman-level plumbing experience.
• Strong commercial and/or industrial plumbing background.
• Proven ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Excellent troubleshooting and diagnostic skills.
• Experience performing facility rehabilitation, maintenance, or renovation work.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, plumbing drawings, and specifications.
• Strong understanding of plumbing codes and industry best practices.
• Reliable transportation to the Cedarville, NJ project.
• Ability to lift 50+ pounds and perform physically demanding work.

Preferred Qualifications

• Industrial manufacturing facility experience.
• Commercial construction experience.
• Industrial maintenance and repair (MRO) experience.
• Mechanical room piping installation.
• Facility rehabilitation and renovation projects.
• Experience working with copper, PVC, CPVC, PEX, cast iron, carbon steel, stainless steel, threaded pipe, grooved pipe, and welded piping systems.
• Experience with pumps, process piping, compressed air systems, and industrial utility piping.
• Welding, brazing, soldering, or pipe fabrication experience is a plus.
• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record (CDL is a plus).
