The Warren-Trumbull County Public Library is seeking an enthusiastic, service-oriented Teen Librarian to join our team full-time! This is a great opportunity for someone passionate about connecting teens with books, technology, and lifelong learning opportunities. If you love working with young people and want to help shape a welcoming, engaging space just for them, we'd love to hear from you.


What You'll Do

  • Provide reference, reader's advisory, and research assistance to teens in person, by phone, and online
  • Plan, promote, and lead engaging programs and events for teens, such as book clubs, gaming nights, and creative workshops
  • Help select, evaluate, and maintain the teen collection to ensure it reflects teen interests and current trends
  • Build partnerships with local schools and youth-serving organizations to promote library services to teens and families
  • Help design and evaluate new services and programs that support teen literacy and engagement
  • Instruct teens in the use of library resources, technology, databases, and digital tools
  • Create displays, booklists, and promotional materials to highlight teen collections and programs
  • Participate in outreach efforts, including school visits and community events for teens
  • Stay current on trends in YA literature, teen culture, and best practices in teen services


Qualifications and Requirements

  • Master's degree in Library and Information Science (MLIS) from an ALA-accredited program
  • Strong customer service, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to connect with and engage teen patrons in a welcoming, inclusive way
  • Proficiency with library technology, integrated library systems, databases, and standard office software
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends as needed
  • Experience planning and delivering teen programming and outreach
  • Knowledge of current trends in YA literature and teen services
  • Valid driver's license


Compensation & Benefits

  • Salary: Starting at $22.12 per hour
