Job description

We have an outstanding Contract to Hire position for an IT Specialist to join a leading Company located in the Havre de Grace, MD surrounding area.

Pay Rate: $38.46 - $50.48

The IT Specialist provides onsite technical support for a manufacturing facility while collaborating closely with the Global IT team based in the Netherlands. This position is responsible for maintaining the local IT infrastructure, supporting end users, administering servers and networks, and participating in company-wide technology initiatives. The ideal candidate is a hands-on IT professional who enjoys troubleshooting complex technical issues, improving business processes through technology, and supporting a modern manufacturing environment.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Provide day-to-day technical support for end users, including desktops, laptops, printers, mobile devices, and peripherals.
  • Install, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot Windows workstations and business applications.
  • Administer and support the local server environment, storage systems, and backups.
  • Maintain and support LAN, WAN, Wi-Fi, VPN, and network infrastructure.
  • Support Microsoft 365, Active Directory, Azure, and related cloud technologies.
  • Maintain mobile device management and telecommunications systems.
  • Support manufacturing and industrial IT systems used throughout the production environment.
  • Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, network, and application issues in a timely manner.
  • Partner with the Global IT team to implement infrastructure upgrades, cybersecurity initiatives, and new technologies.
  • Participate in global IT projects, ensuring assigned deliverables are completed on time.
  • Serve as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for assigned business applications and technical platforms.
  • Recommend process improvements and lead smaller IT projects that improve operational efficiency.
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation, procedures, and user guides.
  • Ensure compliance with company security standards, policies, and best practices.
  • Provide after-hours support as needed for critical business operations.

Basic Hiring Criteria:
  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
  • Minimum of 2 years of progressive IT support or systems administration experience.
  • Experience supporting Windows operating systems and Microsoft 365 environments.
  • Experience administering Active Directory and network infrastructure.
  • Knowledge of virtualization technologies and server administration.
  • Experience supporting manufacturing or industrial environments is preferred.
  • Strong understanding of networking fundamentals, cybersecurity, and endpoint management.
  • Excellent troubleshooting and customer service skills.

Desired Qualifications:
  • Microsoft certifications.
  • Cisco or CompTIA certifications.
  • Experience with Azure cloud technologies.
  • Experience supporting ERP or manufacturing software systems.
