We are seeking a Scaffold Builder for a position in Hopewell, VA. This position assembles, positions, modifies, and dismantles scaffolding to job specifications. Non-exempt role; Reports to a Frontline Supervisor (Leadman or foreman); Assigned duties according to specific procedures / work is checked frequently.

Essential Qualifications:

  • High school or equivalent
  • One to four years of experience in specified skill (depending on mechanic level)
  • Must be local candidate
  • Ability to read engineered drawings preferred
  • Ability to operate different types of Forklift
  • National Certification preferred (may be required by client)
  • Written pre-employment qualification test
  • Post-offer drug/alcohol screen and physical evaluation
  • Job site safety requirements as required by the client (clean shaven, long sleeves, steel toe boots, etc.)
  • Safety equipment as required by the client (hard hat, safety glasses, gloves, respirator, hearing protection, safety harness with lanyard, etc.)
  • Applicant/employee must not pose a direct threat to the health or safety of others in the workplace
  • Employee may be required to provide the following: toolbox, tool belt, adjustable wrench, ratchet wrench with socket, claw hammer, cutting pliers, torpedo level, tape, and rain suit

Functional Requirements:

Inspects surface for holes, objects, and levelness, Assembles scaffold consisting of guardrails, mid-rails, braces, planks, toe boards, screens and/or wheels, Positions scaffold by rolling it into place or erecting in place, Secures scaffold to permanent structure if required, Some other assembly types may include hard barricades, strong backs, engineered scaffold, stairways, etc., Perform additional assignments per supervisor's direction.

Compensation

Final agreed upon compensation is based upon individual qualifications and experience.

Physical Involvement:
