Job description

We are looking for:
A Maintenance Mechanic who can perform maintenance on all plant mechanical equipment and systems following safety, health, and environmental policies. Tasks include mechanical repairs, rotating equipment rebuilds, piping fabrication and installation, and preventative maintenance rounds.
This position will be reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor.
The HSE Statement is to prioritize health, safety, security, and environmental protection in all activities within Syensqo Specialty Polymer.
We can count on you to:
Safety and Compliance:
  • Implement Syensqo safety and Industrial Hygiene procedures.
  • Conduct safety audits and inspections.
  • Participate in safety meetings, Job Hazard Analyses, Hazard and Operability Studies, and incident investigations.
  • Prepare equipment for safe maintenance operations.
  • Participate in emergency response drills.

Mechanical Maintenance and Operations:
  • Install, recondition, repair, and troubleshoot mechanical equipment.
  • Rebuild rotating equipment to meet original standards.
  • Familiarity with various mechanical equipment such as agitators, compressors, pumps, etc.
  • Use industrial tools safely and effectively.
  • Utilize diagnostic tools to resolve mechanical issues.

Documentation and Reporting:
  • Read and understand mechanical drawings and equipment manuals.
  • Maintain records of maintenance activities.
  • Prepare records in accordance with ISO 9001 and quality plant safety certification.

Collaboration and Continuous Improvement:
  • Participate in achieving goals in safety, environmental compliance, reliability, quality, and cost control.
  • Engage in continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Work with engineering and operations teams.
  • Share knowledge and best practices.

Additional Responsibilities:
  • Conduct in-process quality analysis.
  • Ensure good housekeeping.
  • Be available for overtime and emergency call-ins.
  • Advance knowledge and skills in mechanical competencies.

You will bring:
  • 5+ years of maintenance experience in a chemical or manufacturing environment.
  • Millwright experience is a plus.
  • Good oral and written communication skills.
  • Basic computer skills (e.g., email, internet, CMMS).

Physical Requirements:
  • Frequent standing, walking, and use of hands.
  • Occasionally required to sit, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
  • Must frequently lift up to 55 lbs. and maneuver up to 100 lbs.
  • Specific vision abilities required include color vision.
  • Must be trained and physically able to use personal protective equipment.
