Joyson Safety Systems, a market leader in the automotive supply industry, based in the Detroit Metro area, is searching for an experienced Reporting & Technical Accounting Manager. Working as a regional finance manager and a key business partner to the Regional Accounting Executive Director, this role will oversee both the technical accounting functions and the preparation of regulatory and financial reports, ensuring compliance with accounting standards and reporting requirements.

 

Key Responsibilities

Technical Accounting Duties

  • Provide  IFRS guidance for research questions from finance, accounting, and share service teams 
  • Compile corporate accounting policies and prepare quarterly summaries of emerging standards for the Audit & Finance Committee.
  • Ensure accounting policies and procedures consistently comply with IFRS
  • Train finance professionals on technical accounting matters and CSOX requirements 
  • Prepare and manage external regulatory reports in compliance with reporting standards
  • Support monthly financial close, stock exchange filings, and management assessments of balances and transactions 
  • Collaborate with business units, auditors, and advisors to ensure accurate financial reporting 

 

Required Qualifications

Education

  • Bachelor's and preferably Master's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, MBA, or related field 

Certifications

  • CPA

Skills

  • IFRS, complex accounting concepts
  • SEC reporting and Sarbanes-Oxley compliance
  • Excel, MS Office, large accounting systems (e.g., SAP)
  • Analytical and documentation skills
  • Strong communication and project management abilities 

Experience

  • Experience with technical accounting research, regulatory reporting, and compliance
  • Experience in preparing and filing external reports
  • Experience in coordinating with auditors and business units 
  • Exposure to international operations (Spanish and Portugues language is a plus)
