Job description

JT4 China Lake is seeking a highly organized Warehouse Specialist. The role is responsible for material handling of supplies utilizing equipment such as forklift, pallet jacks, J-bars, banding machines, and dollies. The incumbent will also be highly proficient with warehouse configuration and well versed with inventory management. JT4, LLC provides engineering and technical support to multiple western test ranges for the U.S. Air Force, Space Force, and Navy under the Joint Range Technical Services Contract, better known as J-Tech II. JT4 develops and maintains realistic, integrated test and training environments and prepares our nation's war-fighting aircraft, weapons systems, and aircrews for today's missions and tomorrow's global challenges. **An ideal candidate will have an active Secret clearance** **This position is located at China Lake South Range and is not eligible for telework** **A forklift certification is highly desired** Job Summary -- Essential Functions/Duties The Warehouse Specialist, under limited supervision, performs physical tasks to transport or store materials and supplies using a forklift and other powered and non-powered handling equipment. Duties and tasks require an understanding of the company's storage configuration. Employee will be responsible to perform the following functions/duties: Transport materials or goods to/from proper storage locations; store, stack, or palletize materials according to prescribed storage methods Uses a forklift 15-20% of the time Verify materials against receiving documents, report discrepancies and damages Identify, count, and tag materials Receive, handle, move and safeguard small quantities of hazardous materials Maintain cleanliness and organization of storage facilities Prepare removed material for shipment. Requirements -- Education, Technical, and Work Experience Incumbent must have completed one year of experience in a warehouse or material support environment and one year of forklift operation experience. Must possess familiarity with material handling equipment to include forklifts, pallet jacks, J-bars, banding machines, and dollies. Possess familiarity with basic Hazmat/Hazwaste handling procedures with emphasis on storage and issue and protection of property. Completion of vocational/technical training in Hazmat management/or the military equivalent as required. Preferred 1+ years of experience in a Hazardous Materials within a logistics support environment. Must possess knowledge of Federal, State, Local and military directions, instructions and regulations as they pertain to hazardous waste/materials, and P2. In addition, a Warehouse Specialist must possess the following qualifications: Must have at least one year of computerized inventory maintenance experience and knowledge of other Microsoft applications i.e., Outlook, Word, and Excel Must be able to work well with JT4 and Armed Forces personnel at all levels Must be a team player with excellent customer service skills Must have successful experience interfacing with government auditors and is comfortable working in an area that is extensively monitored and audited by State and Federal agencies Must qualify for and maintain a government security clearance Must possess a valid, state issued driver's license. The expected salary range for this position is $51,500.80 to $57,948.80 annually. The salary range offered for this position is a good faith description of the expected salary range this role will pay. JT4 LLC considers factors such as (but not limited to) responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, as well as, market and business considerations when extending an offer. Working Conditions The incumbent will perform duties in a shop, warehouse, field work site environment, or outside in a desert environment. It could involve exposure to potentially hazardous materials. Must be familiar with protective clothing and a personal breathing apparatus. Duties require routine lifting up to 50 pounds (anything heavier requires two or more people or mechanical assistance), and regular handling, grasping, kneeling, and carrying in addition to standing, walking, sitting, pushing, pulling, climbing, bending, twisting, crawling, and other physical requirements necessary to perform the essential functions of the job. Constant vision and mental alertness is required. JT4 employees will only operate equipment that they have been fully trained on and/or certified to operate. If working in an on-the-job training capacity, employees must be supervised at all times by a competent trained or certified company employee. Under no circumstances should employees use another employee's equipment without permission from their immediate supervisor or manager. Conversely, employees should not allow other JT4 employees or employees of another employer to use JT4 owned or assigned equipment without proof of training and approval by the supervisor or manager. The incumbent must be able to work independently with minimal supervision. Must be able to work days in excess of eight hours and perform shift and weekend work to meet required schedule demands.
