Location: Eden Support Center
Hours: 6 AM - 2 PM Closing Date: Open Until Filled Reports To: Facilities Manager Basic Function: Assumes major responsibility for the operation and maintenance of assigned Christina School District buildings heating system. This is a non-supervisory position.
Qualifications:
- Formal boiler trade school training or equivalent training acceptable to the Christina School District
- Apprenticeship preferred and a resume of documented experience.
- Prefer two years of successful experience as a boiler mechanic.
- Must hold a Fireman's certificate and or hold a journeyman certificate. We will consider a candidate if he/she commits to obtaining certification within a specified time limit.
- Leadership ability, good communication skills to be able to instruct others or collaborate with supply houses and contractors
Salary Range: Commensurate with appropriate salary schedule

Boiler Technician
Duties and Job Functions:
- The boiler technician maintains boiler systems, oversees maintenance, enforcing safety protocols, and regulate controls for optimal performance.
- Perform all maintenance and repair of boilers and auxiliary mechanical equipment including, burners, pumps, assist in chillers maintenance and repairs, three phase motors, hot water systems and ventilation.
- Mechanical skills and systems knowledge of combination, steam, condensing, oil, natural gas boilers and both high and low pressure gas systems are vital to keep boilers functioning properly and ensure the safety of staff and students.
- Ability to read basic operating instructions, write reports, and maintain records.
- Responsibilities will include performing routine maintenance on boilers and associated equipment, piping systems, burners, and HVAC units.
- Other maintenance duties as assigned will also include, snow removal, supporting all other Facilities operational needs, acquire parts and equipment through Facilities Management supply chain to resolve tasks.
- Other duties include performing preventative maintenance on equipment, and promoting efficiency.
