The Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Class C Driver to handle local pickup and delivery operations within the area. This role focuses on transporting smaller loads to customer locations and terminals, maintaining high levels of safety and customer satisfaction. Drivers will operate non-commercial vehicles and return home daily.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Local Deliveries: Transport and deliver smaller freight loads using company-provided Class C Box Truck.
  • Customer Service: Interact professionally with customers to ensure satisfaction with each delivery.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate records, including delivery logs, receipts, and proof of delivery.
  • Safety Compliance: Conduct pre- and post-trip inspections of the vehicle and ensure compliance with all safety regulations.
  • Freight Handling: Assist with loading and unloading freight as necessary, often using hand trucks or pallet jacks.
  • Route Optimization: Follow efficient delivery routes and adjust as needed to meet delivery deadlines.
Requirements:Minimum Requirements
  • Experience: 1+ year of professional driving experience preferred.
  • Education: High School Diploma or GED preferred.
  • License: Valid Class C driverโ€™s license with a clean driving record.
  • Screening: Ability to pass a background check and drug screening.
Compensation

ยท Compensation: $26.00 - $27.00 an hour, based on experience and location.ยท Classification: Non-Exempt, subject to all applicable state and federal laws.

Work Environment

This is a full-time, at-will position with variable hours. Drivers benefit from consistent local routes and daily home time. Physical Requirements:

  • Lifting and Carrying: Ability to lift, carry, and move loads that may weigh up to 50 pounds or more, often multiple times a day.
  • Pushing and Pulling: Capability to push and pull products, sometimes using hand trucks or pallet jacks, often up to 2500 pounds with assistance.
  • Standing and Walking: Frequent standing and walking around the vehicle and in and out of customer locations throughout the day.
  • Bending, Kneeling, and Crouching: Regular bending, kneeling, or crouching for loading, unloading, and securing cargo.
  • Endurance and Stamina: Ability to sit for long hours while driving and work extended shifts, sometimes up to 10-12 hours.
  • Adaptability to Weather Conditions: Ability to work in various weather conditions, and extreme temperatures, as well as adjust driving and loading/unloading practices to ensure safety in these environments.
