Job description

Description

The Auto Parts Delivery Driver drives company vehicles to pick up and deliver parts in the local area. He/she transports products from local parts sources and delivers them to our dealership. Most importantly and without exception, the Delivery Driver operates within the legal speed limits and in a safe fashion at all times.

The ideal candidate has a high school diploma or GED, an unrestricted driver's license, and a clean driving record. Candidates must be able to drive both automatic and standard-transmission vehicles and must have basic mechanical skills to perform minor vehicle maintenance (checking and topping off fluid levels, maintaining tire pressure, performing vehicle safety checks, etc.). Strong communication and customer service skills required.


Responsibilities

  • Ensures safe and on-time delivery of parts to the dealership using company vehicles and following all company procedures and standards
  • Complies with and enforces all safety policies and procedures
  • Maintains cleanliness of vehicles and performs routine maintenance tasks
  • Obeys posted speed limits at all times and all other rules of the road
  • Completes any reports or logs
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Requirements

Qualifications

  • Must be at least 18 years old
  • High school diploma or GED preferred
  • Experience preferred
  • Unrestricted driver's license and clean driving record
  • Must have valid drivers license for a minimum of three years
  • Able to drive both automatic and standard-transmission vehicles
  • Able to bend, kneel, squat, stand, and lift heavy objects as needed
  • Basic mechanical skills to perform minor vehicle maintenance
  • Excellent communication, customer service, and problem solving skills, including the ability to maintain composure under stress
  • Highly professional and dependable
  • Safety and customer service oriented

The ideal candidate possesses the below:

  • Eager to be active, familiar with warehousing, and has materials handling experience.
  • Safely and efficiently navigating the warehouse
  • Assist in preparation for, and completion of inventory
  • Maintain inventory of spare parts and supplies
  • Enter receipt of packages by signature
  • Keep packages and warehouse orderly and clean
  • Receives and stocks product from manufacturers and wholesalers
  • Ensures accurate quantities of product were received, and compares appropriate paperwork, or what's displayed on hand-held scanner, and matching product numbers
  • Must be physically capable of bending, stooping, lifting, walking 8 hours per day.
