Job description

This Class A Truck Driver will transport grain, flour, and other materialsfor our customers locally. This position is primarily responsible for providing Class A driving support to our local flour mill, requiring compliance with all DOT and Company Safety Regulations.

  • $25.50/hour straight time, up to $1750/week
  • Monday - Friday and weekends as needed
  • 6am-5pm daily
  • 15 days' vacation (accrued annually)
  • 9 Paid holidays + 2 floating holidays per year

CDL TRUCK DRIVER RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Complete Local pick ups and deliveries
  • Move dry van trailers away from the dock, and place empty trailers for preloading
  • Move loaded and empty trailers around the property at customer's direction
  • Stage trailers at customer to be unloaded
  • Assist in moving equipment into and out of the wash bay
  • Travel equipment to local facilities for services
  • Complete daily pre and post trips inspections, including preventative maintenance
  • Constantly communicate with Supervisor and Customer Manager to meet needs timely
  • Ensure compliance with all Company, Local, State and Federal regulations
  • Confirm accuracy of BOL's, Seals and trailer numbers
  • Detect and eliminate or minimize safety hazards.
  • Load/Unload freight or assist in the loading/unloading of freight, if required.
  • Maintain vehicle cleanliness
  • Ability to work in all weather conditions
  • Must be professional and courteous to customers and fellow employees
  • Be on-time, making customer service a priority

CDL TRUCK DRIVER QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 2 years verifiable Class A experience within the last 5 years
  • Working knowledge of pneumatic trailers or willingness to learn
  • Ability to follow written and/or oral instructions in English
  • Ability to read, interpret, and apply laws, rules, regulations, policies and/or procedure

WORKING CONDITIONS:

  • Climbing into and out of tractors, and on top of pneumatic trailers
  • Cranking of landing gear
  • Lifting, as needed
  • Must be willing to work in all kinds of weather conditions
