Local Class A drivers are professional truck drivers who hold a Class A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) and operate large vehicles such as tractor-trailers for local or regional routes. Unlike over-the-road (OTR) drivers, they typically deliver goods within a specific area, allowing them to return home daily. Their responsibilities include loading and unloading cargo, inspecting vehicles for safety, and adhering to all transportation regulations. To thrive as a Local Class A Truck Driver, you need a valid CDL Class A license, a clean driving record, and a solid understanding of safety regulations and road laws. Familiarity with GPS navigation systems, electronic logging devices (ELDs), and routine vehicle inspection tools is typically required.
