Job description

Safely operate dump truck, with or without trailer, on assigned route/location to service customers in a safe and efficient manner. Deliver collected solid waste or recyclables to landfill, MRF or transfer station.


GFL Environmental is looking for a Dump Truck Driver to join our team in Delta, BC!

The ideal candidate will have a class 1 drivers license, and clean drivers abstract. They will safely operate dump truck, with or without trailer, on assigned route/location to service customers in a safe and efficient manner. Deliver collected solid waste or recyclables to landfill, MRF or transfer station.

Key Responsibilities:
Operate dump truck and on-board hydraulic systems on assigned route to collect solid waste and/or recyclables on a specified collection route.
Complete pre-trip and post-trip safety lane inspections and reports, daily truck report, route sheets and other documentation requested by supervisor daily.
Operate truck and equipment using prescribed techniques to eliminate driver-induced mechanical failures.

Safely and efficiently service the Lower Mainland with our high-quality composted products.
Follow all safety standards, equipment checks and precautions in performance of all duties. Comply with all federal, state/provincial, local and company rules on safety and vehicle operation.
Exhibit a professional demeanor, manner and appearance at all times (i.e., meeting customers and/or the general public while on route or in uniform.)
Maintain accurate records of services performed.
Work closely with supervisor to improve routing efficiencies
Requirements:
Possess valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL).
Minimum 3 years of satisfactory driving experience of commercial vehicles.
Must be able to demonstrate the ability to safely drive the truck and operate the equipment

Ability to driver a vehicle that carries up to 80,000 lbs or 40 tons.
