Job description

Our client is a well-established construction equipment operation supporting large-scale commercial and industrial projects throughout the region. They maintain a significant fleet and provide equipment to active jobsites as well as external customers.

This is a stable, long-term opportunity with consistent work tied directly to ongoing construction operations.

Position Overview

This is a local CDL-A position focused on transporting construction equipment to and from jobsites. This is not over-the-road freight.

Drivers are responsible for safely hauling equipment using flatbeds, lowboys, and drop-deck trailers. The role requires hands-on involvement in load securement, equipment inspections, and maintaining compliance with DOT and company safety standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Transport heavy construction equipment to and from jobsites and customer locations
  • Check accuracy and stability of loads prior to transport
  • Load, secure, and unload equipment safely
  • Maintain required driving and delivery records
  • Deliver equipment and collect documentation or payment as required
  • Pick up company equipment and property from jobsites
  • Inspect vehicles and equipment for roadworthiness and jobsite readiness
  • Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections
  • Ensure vehicles and equipment are maintained according to maintenance schedules
  • Maintain compliance with DOT regulations and company safety policies
  • Keep vehicles, tools, and assigned work areas clean and organized

Required Qualifications

  • Valid Class A CDL
  • Driving record that meets company MVR and insurance guidelines
  • Minimum 3 years of commercial driving experience preferred
  • Experience with local delivery preferred
  • Knowledge of DOT regulations
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision

Preferred Experience

  • Experience hauling heavy construction equipment

  • Experience with 13-speed or 18-speed manual transmission trucks
  • Experience with flatbed, drop-deck, lowboy, or RGN trailers

  • HAZMAT certification is preferred but not required
