Job description

CDL Driver – Waste & Recycling

We are seeking a dependable CDL Driver to operate collection vehicles and support daily waste and recycling operations. The ideal candidate will have experience operating heavy-duty trucks in a commercial environment, with ASL experience strongly preferred.

Job Type: Full-time, On-site

Responsibilities for the CDL Driver:

  • Safely operate waste and recycling collection vehicles throughout an assigned route.
  • Perform residential, commercial, or municipal waste and recycling collection.
  • Operate ASL, front-load, rear-load, roll-off, or other refuse vehicles as assigned.
  • Complete daily pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections.
  • Ensure all routes are completed safely, efficiently, and on schedule.
  • Follow all DOT regulations and company safety procedures.
  • Properly operate truck controls and collection equipment.
  • Communicate with dispatch, customers, and operations personnel as needed.
  • Identify and report vehicle maintenance issues or safety concerns.
  • Maintain accurate route and collection records.
  • Assist with basic vehicle checks and housekeeping of the assigned truck.
  • Provide professional and courteous customer service.

Requirements of the CDL Driver:

  • Valid CDL Class A or B with a clean driving record.
  • Previous commercial truck driving experience preferred.
  • Waste and recycling industry experience preferred.
  • ASL truck experience strongly preferred.
  • Experience with front-load, rear-load, roll-off, or other refuse equipment is a plus.
  • Strong understanding of DOT regulations and safe driving practices.
  • Ability to work independently while maintaining productivity and route schedules.
  • Strong attendance, reliability, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
