Role Purpose

The Account Manager will be responsible for assisting the operational team to deliver excellent and safer performance in the cargo service functions at a high-volume international airport.to include managing the Company's relationship with assigned airline customer, acting as the liaison between the two. Lead problem avoidance and resolution initiatives

Salary: $50,000 - $55,000

Reporting to: General Manager

Primary Accountabilities and Duties

  • Implement Menzies Aviation Policies and Procedures as laid down in the Eight Pillars of Management
  • Ensures service delivery to customer airlines is according to the airline contracts, and within the agreed budget level
  • Ensures safety and security procedures are performed according to the Menzies Health & Safety regulations, and according to international aviation standards
  • Monitors performance, taking action to correct any shortfalls
  • Liaise with airline station managers, airport operations staff, handling agents, customs, immigration, and security officials, and other airport stakeholders
  • Provides reports as required, and service delivery measurements
  • Provides leadership to the management team, developing their skills
  • Responsibilities include interviewing; training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; employee recognition, addressing issues and ensuring employees successfully complete company's training programs.
  • Work shifts as required by the business
  • To report any significant deficiency in our products, materials and documents
  • Has the duty to suggest any improvements to working practices, especially those relating to safety and security
  • Must follow all security procedures as required
  • Other duties as assigned

Supervisory Responsibilities

  • Manages employees in the Ground Handling department.
  • Is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of this unit.
  • Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.

Candidate requirements

  • Financial management skills awareness.
  • Able to communicate effectively with senior level personnel.
  • Able to work with a multinational work force, and to adjust to the local conditions of the station.
  • A working knowledge of the IATA Standard Ground Handling Agreement.
  • Aptitude to develop the supervisory team, provide succession planning, and re-engineer business processes as demanded by changes in the business.
  • Able to support other stations as required and ensure own station responsibilities are covered with on leave.
  • Airport Ground Handling experience at a high-volume international airport.
  • Excellent knowledge of ramp/cargo/ GSE.
  • Strong written, verbal and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrates customer relationship skills, including ability to effectively communicate with all levels of employees from field to corporate executives.
  • Strong Finance and Accounting Experience and Background  
  • Should possess solid problem solving, multi-tasking abilities and experience in the handling of flight operations.
  • Computer and experience with Microsoft Office programs required.
  • High School Graduate plus, two to five years related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience. 
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to effectively present information to and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Possess/Maintain a valid state Driver's License and other FAA/Airport required identifications and seals.
  • Must pass pre-employment physical and a drug test.
