Job Description

The SVP, Commerce will define and lead Publicis Media's next-generation commerce vision evolving the practice beyond retail media into a fully integrated, future-forward growth engine spanning digital shelf, owned commerce, marketplaces, data, and shoppable media.

This leader will position commerce as a core driver of client growth and business transformation building proprietary frameworks, scaling adoption across the client portfolio, and establishing Publicis Media as a market-leading authority at the intersection of media, retail, and business effectiveness.

Responsibilities

Commerce Leadership & Strategy:

  • Define a future-forward commerce vision, positioning Publicis Media as a leader in the evolving commerce ecosystem
  • Develop proprietary frameworks, methodologies, and points of view that shape client strategy and differentiate our offering
  • Orchestrate commerce across media, data, identity, and experience fully integrated with broader client growth and transformation agendas
  • Drive adoption of commerce solutions across key clients, embedding commerce into upstream planning and business strategy
  • Act as a senior strategic advisor to clients on commerce transformation and growth acceleration
  • Represent Publicis Media externally as a commerce thought leader (clients, industry forums, media)
  • Lead new business and growth opportunities with a differentiated, innovation-forward commerce narrative

Performance Commerce:

  • Build and scale a commerce engine identifying emerging trends, piloting new models, and commercializing innovation
  • Develop scalable, productized solutions across retail media, digital shelf, and owned commerce
  • Partner with data and analytics teams to create advanced measurement frameworks linking commerce activity to business outcomes
  • Leverage AI, automation, and emerging technologies to enhance performance, efficiency, and personalization

Partnerships & Commercial Strategy:

  • Shape and influence strategic partnerships across the commerce ecosystem (Amazon, Walmart, retail networks, platforms, and tech partners)
  • Co-create innovative solutions and unlock preferential access, data partnerships, and commercial opportunities
  • Identify and activate emerging partners to expand capability and differentiation

Data & Innovation:

  • Define commerce measurement frameworks
  • Connect agency-led identity capabilities with strategic commerce partners to drive deeper insights, broader access, and more advanced audience planning.
  • Drive test-and-learn innovation culture
  • Explore emerging commerce trends

Team Leadership:

Qualifications
  • 12-15+ years experience in commerce, eCommerce, or performance media
  • Proven leadership in scaling commerce or performance business units
  • Deep expertise in retail media, marketplaces, and eCommerce ecosystems
  • Strong client leadership and commercial acumen
  • Excellent communication and analytical skills
Additional Information

Salary

Transparency matters to us. The salary range for this position is $180,000 to $210,000 per year. Actual compensation within this range will be based on a variety of factors, including relevant experience, knowledge, skills, and applicable certifications. This range reflects what we reasonably expect to offer based on current market data.
