The Powerhouse Operator will manage, maintain, and operate our facility's powerhouse equipment and boiler systems to ensure the efficient and safe operation of boilers, turbines, generators, and related equipment to provide uninterrupted power and heat supply to our facility.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
  • Operate and monitor powerhouse equipment, including boilers, turbines, pumps, and related machinery, to maintain optimal performance and efficiency.
  • Adhere to strict safety protocols and guidelines while performing tasks, ensuring all operations comply with industry regulations and safety standards.
  • Perform routine inspections, preventive maintenance, and repairs on boilers, valves, pumps, and associated machinery to prevent downtime and ensure equipment longevity.
  • Identify and troubleshoot equipment malfunctions or operational issues, taking prompt corrective action to minimize disruptions and maintain continuous operations.
  • Maintain accurate records of equipment readings, maintenance activities, and operational logs to track performance, identify trends, and ensure compliance.
  • Coordinate with other departments, engineers, and maintenance teams to schedule maintenance, repairs, and equipment upgrades, ensuring minimal impact on operations.
  • Respond swiftly and effectively to emergency situations, such as equipment failures or power outages, implementing appropriate measures to restore operations safely.
  • Recommend and implement process improvements or equipment upgrades to enhance efficiency, reduce energy consumption, and optimize performance.

Education and/or Experience
Highschool Diploma or Equivalent (GED), Proven experience as a Powerhouse/Boiler Operator or a similar role within an industrial or manufacturing setting, Strong knowledge of boiler operations, steam systems, combustion processes, and related machinery, State Certified Boiler Operator License is required.
Reasoning Ability
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
