Rate Lock Desk Analyst (Full Time) - Baton Rouge, LA
OVERVIEW
The Rate Lock Desk Analyst will be responsible for supporting all activities of the Lock Desk including, but not limited to, confirming lock requests, extending, re-pricing, and re-locking loans while adhering to and enforcing the Rate Lock Policy. The Rate Lock Desk Analyst will also assist in the development, pricing, securitizing, and selling of mortgage products to investors and Agency relationships, as well as participate in management report generation and analysis.
JOB DUTIES amp; RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Prepare, maintain, and publish daily rate sheets.
  • Review and confirm all rate lock requests through lock desk email and phone including original rate locks, floats, re-locks, extensions, and cancellations. Includes validating the lock request to ensure accurate pricing.
  • Communicate confirmations in a timely manner.
  • Commit and register loans with investors. Monitor outstanding commitments and expiration dates.
  • Monitor loan criteria changes and determine if adjustments in the lock are required.
  • Process locks efficiently and effectively
  • Re-confirm locks from previous day to ensure accurate pricing.
  • Enforce Secondary Marketing Rate Lock Policy.
  • Assist with system, product, and procedural inquiries.
  • Assist with the roll out of new products.
  • Assist in the preparation of management reports.
  • Assist in all duties assigned by V.P. of Secondary Marketing.
JOB REQUIREMENTS amp; SKILLS
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent
  • 2+ years of mortgage/business experience preferred
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize responsibilities in an ever changing, fast paced environment and adapt quickly to changes
  • Highly motivated to expand knowledge and responsibility for growth
  • Exceptional attention to detail with the ability to consistently produce accurate work
  • Strong mathematics and analytical skills
  • Strong computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft products
  • Knowledge of Encompass 360, Microsoft Office Programs a plus.
  • Possess strong data entry skills with minimal errors.
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills
  • Must be willing to work flexible hours
  • The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
  • Ability to stand and sit for periods of time and to move intermittently throughout the workday.
  • Strong speaking and listening skills.
  • Strong sensory skills, such as good eyesight, good hearing, and dexterity.
  • Ability to interact with others, both in person and through phone, e-mail, and written correspondence.
  • Ability to perform focused work with close attention to detail.
  • Residency in one of the following states is a requirement for the position: Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Louisiana, Mississippi, Tennessee, or Texas.
