Job Location:

Brickell City Centre

PRIMARY PURPOSE:

Under the supervision of theLoading Dock Supervisorthe position of Loading Dock Master functions to provide loading dock access control, traffic supervision, oversight, and supervision of loading dock conditions as regards to safety, cleanliness, and maintenance issues. The position is principally assigned to Brickell City Centre. The position is assigned to a specific work hours shift. Shifts and hours are established to meet the operational requirements of the facility and its occupants and as such may be altered from time to time.

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

The successful candidate's responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:

  • Assist Loading Dock Supervisor with plans and delivery activities.

  • Provide planning, direction and control of all available resources ensuring timely, damage-free unloading of shipments.

  • Maintain and strictly enforce a daily schedule of deliveries for efficient loading dock operations.

  • Verify and/or complete required documentation and reports.

  • Review and follow docking and undocking checklists.

  • Work with Security and Property Management

  • Work with the Loading Dock Supervisor to submit formal requests and justifications for equipment, long-term repairs and/or modifications to docks.

  • Responsible for the neatness and cleanliness of assigned work area, the accuracy of warehouse locations, travel aisles, loading bays, and docks.

  • Observe and enforce all safety rules to reduce accidents and injuries.

  • Cross-training other warehouse functions and perform other warehouse duties as assigned.

  • Responsible for the loading/unloading straight trucks and/or 53 ft. commercial trailers.

  • Move materials and items from receiving or production areas to storage or to other designated areas.

  • Sort and break down product boxes.

  • Effectively communicate with Receivers, Drivers, Driver Check-in, & Forklift Operators

  • Responsible for the proper handling of all company issued equipment, including PPE, voice equipment etc.

  • Responsible for reporting all safety concerns in the work environment in a timely matter.

  • Responsible for completing daily equipment inspection logs.

  • Must maintain product integrity with proper handling & report damage to management immediately.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Valid Driver's License Required

  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.

  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.

  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.

  • Ability to use electric pallet jack as well as stand-up forklift is a must.

  • Strong team player that thrives in a fast-paced environment

  • This is a full-time position. The individual must have the ability to work a varying schedule which might include shift work (days or nights), weekdays or weekends, and some holidays. Work hours may vary, or change based on customer order requirements.

  • The individual must be reliable, responsible, and punctual, with a positive attitude, and work well independently and with a team.
