Loading Operator

Job Description

The Process Loading Operator ensures the safe and efficient washing, loading, and unloading of trucks in a highly automated production facility. This role follows established procedures for loading, unloading, cleaning, and documentation while maintaining strict compliance with environmental, safety, quality, and legal regulations. The position works closely with the Process Supervisor and uses inventory management software and process control systems to support accurate, timely shipment of products.

Responsibilities

  • Understand and follow all environmental, safety, quality, and legal regulations in the work area.
  • Follow established procedures for loading and unloading trucks to ensure safe and accurate product transfer.
  • Adhere to the truck loading schedule to support on-time shipments.
  • Follow established cleaning and CIP (Clean-In-Place) procedures to maintain equipment cleanliness and product integrity.
  • Use the truck loading program and process control computers to operate and monitor loading activities.
  • Verify that trucks are loaded correctly, sealed properly, and that all paperwork is accurate before the truck leaves the plant.
  • Notify the Supervisor promptly of any equipment failures, irregularities, or operational problems.
  • Learn and comply with all established safety, GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices), and food safety rules, as well as general company policies.
  • Verify the accuracy of all information related to production, loading, and documentation.
  • Record and maintain accurate written and electronic information to support traceability and quality requirements.
  • Troubleshoot basic mechanical and operational issues with equipment and processes as needed.
  • Operate production and loading machinery safely and efficiently in accordance with standard operating procedures.

Essential Skills

  • At least 1 year of production or manufacturing experience.
  • Ability to lift up to 75 pounds safely and repeatedly as needed.
  • Ability to stand on feet for up to 12 hours at a time.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to understand and work with mechanical systems and equipment.
  • Ability to follow detailed procedures for loading, unloading, cleaning, and documentation.
  • Ability to accurately complete shipping documentation such as Bills of Lading and Certificates of Analysis using inventory management software.
  • Basic ability to use process control computers and truck loading programs.
  • Ability to troubleshoot basic mechanical or operational issues in a production environment.
  • Commitment to following safety, GMP, food safety, and quality standards at all times.
  • Ability to work 12-hour shifts on a rotating schedule, including every other weekend.

Work Environment

You will frequently encounter wet and humid conditions, high or precarious places, extreme cold and heat, and a loud noise level. The schedule follows a 2-days-on/2-days-off, 3-days-on/3-days-off rotation, resulting in working every other weekend and having every other weekend off, with 12-hour shifts from 6:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. or 6:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. The dress code includes steel-toe boots, lab coat and pants, hair and beard nets, and appropriate safety equipment.

The pay range for this position is $21.00 - $23.00/hr.
