About this position

Key duties will include loading/unloading trucks, railcars and barges with a variety of chemical products. This position will be at our Muscatine, IA location

Responsibilities (Essential Duties and Responsibilities):

  • Unload barges, tank cars and tank trucks with a variety of hazardous and non-hazardous chemicals.
  • Ensure timely and accurate completion of paperwork associated with the manufacturing/unloading/loading operations.
  • Contribute to safety and quality meetings.
  • Identify maintenance work and work with the Terminal or Manufacturing Supervisors to facilitate repairs as necessary.
  • Perform incidental maintenance work on equipment as needed.
  • Perform minor maintenance work on buildings and property as needed.
  • General housekeeping of work area and other misc. duties as necessary.
  • Able to work on elevated platforms.

Minimum Qualifications Required

  • Completed High School degree
  • Chemical manufacturing and/or distribution experience a plus.
  • Must be able to read/write/speak English
  • Must be proficient in basic mathematics
  • Must be able to pass a position based physical fitness test

Other Preferred Knowledge/Experience

  • Experience with driving OTR trucks either on the road or in a plant environment a plus.
  • Experience with Safety and/or Quality programs
  • Experience handling Chlor-Alkali, or other hazardous materials a plus.
