Job Summary
We are seeking a reliable Shipping/Receiving Operator I to join our warehouse team. This role is responsible for preparing products for shipment, verifying documentation, packaging materials properly, and ensuring orders meet customer requirements. The position also involves loading/unloading trucks, operating forklifts (if certified), and maintaining a clean, safe, and organized work area.
Key Responsibilities
Inspect, label, and package products for shipment according to procedures.
Review work orders and shipment details, including special requirements (e.g., HAZCOM or international shipments).
Match documentation to verify order accuracy and shipment details.
Confirm quantities, counts, and inspection sign-offs.
Build crates, skids, or boxes as needed; use hand tools and basic equipment.
Operate forklifts (if certified) to move products and load/unload trucks.
Maintain accurate paperwork and shipment records.
Keep work area clean, organized, and compliant with safety standards.
Participate in cross-training and assist in training new team members.
Qualifications
High school diploma or GED required.
Prior experience in shipping/receiving or manufacturing preferred.
Ability to read production and shipping documents.
Basic math skills and ability to use measuring instruments.
Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
Forklift operation experience (certification preferred).
