Job Summary
We are seeking a dependable and professional Security Officer for a combined Warehouse Officer and Vehicle Patrol position. This role is responsible for maintaining site security through vehicle patrols, warehouse and loading dock monitoring, access control enforcement, perimeter inspections, and detailed documentation. The ideal candidate is alert, detail-oriented, customer service focused, and capable of working independently while maintaining a visible security presence throughout the property.
Responsibilities
  • Conduct continuous vehicle and foot patrols throughout parking lots, drive lanes, perimeter roads, warehouse areas, and exterior building areas.
  • Maintain a highly visible security presence to deter theft, vandalism, trespassing, unauthorized access, and other security concerns.
  • Perform routine inspections of parking areas, fence lines, gates, loading docks, exterior doors, warehouse areas, and building access points.
  • Conduct required QR checkpoint scans and patrol verification rounds every 30 minutes, or as otherwise required by site post orders.
  • Identify and immediately report security breaches, suspicious activity, safety hazards, equipment malfunctions, maintenance concerns, and other unusual conditions.
  • Control access at vehicle gates, warehouse entrances, loading docks, and designated access points.
  • Verify authorization for employees, visitors, vendors, contractors, and delivery personnel requesting access to the property.
  • Enforce after-hours access restrictions and deny entry when proper authorization has not been obtained.
  • Open, close, and secure designated vehicle gates in accordance with site schedules and post orders.
  • Ensure all assigned access points, gates, doors, and restricted areas remain secure and are not left unattended or unsecured.
  • Monitor loading dock operations and assist with inbound and outbound deliveries during loading and unloading activities.
  • Remain present in designated loading dock areas during active loading and unloading operations.
  • Observe shipping, receiving, and delivery activities to ensure compliance with site security procedures.
  • Prevent unauthorized entry through loading docks, warehouse doors, and other restricted access points.
  • Inspect warehouse access points for propped doors, bypassed access controls, unsecured doors, or other security vulnerabilities.
  • Conduct routine inspections of warehouse and exterior areas and monitor general site conditions throughout the shift.
  • Monitor for safety hazards, including spills, leaks, blocked exits, damaged equipment, unsafe conditions, and other potential hazards.
  • Check for water leaks, roof leaks, maintenance issues, and other conditions requiring management or maintenance attention.
  • Check for lights, machinery, computer systems, or other equipment that may have been unnecessarily left operating and report concerns as required.
  • Secure authorized packages or deliveries left outside in designated safe locations and notify appropriate management personnel.
  • Monitor after-hours activity and maintain overall property security during non-business hours.
  • Enforce site and company policies, including restrictions on eating, drinking, and other prohibited activities in designated areas.
  • Support loss prevention and asset protection efforts by identifying and reporting suspicious activity, unauthorized access, and potential security risks.
  • Assist with emergency response procedures and follow established emergency protocols when required.
  • Maintain professional communication with Dispatch, site management, and other assigned security personnel regarding incidents, operational concerns, and site conditions.
  • Utilize radios, mobile devices, GPS verification systems, QR checkpoint systems, and company applications as required to document patrol and security activities.
  • Complete Daily Activity Reports (DARs), incident reports, access logs, patrol logs, QR checkpoint records, and other required documentation accurately, thoroughly, and on time.
  • Maintain professionalism, alertness, visibility, and strong customer service throughout the entire shift.
  • Perform additional security-related duties as assigned by site management, Dispatch, or the Operations Department.
Qualifications
  • Valid Guard Card required
  • Valid Driver's License with clean driving record
  • Previous security, patrol, warehouse security, or access control experience preferred
  • Strong observation, communication, and report writing skills
  • Ability to work independently and make sound decisions within assigned authority
  • Comfortable using smartphones, mobile applications, radios, GPS systems, and electronic reporting platforms
  • Ability to perform vehicle patrols, exterior inspections, and prolonged standing or walking as required
  • Reliable, punctual, professional, and detail-oriented
  • Ability to remain alert and attentive throughout the entire shift
  • Understanding of access control procedures and Observe & Report security practices
  • Ability to work outdoors and in warehouse environments
