The Opportunity
We are seeking an experienced Class A Driver to handle local pickup and delivery operations within the area. This role focuses on efficiently transporting freight between customer locations and terminals while maintaining a high standard of customer service and safety. Drivers will return home daily and enjoy consistent schedules.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Local Pickup and Delivery: Transport and deliver freight to customers and terminals in the assigned region.
  • Customer Service: Interact professionally with customers to ensure deliveries meet their expectations.
  • Documentation: Accurately complete delivery paperwork, including bills of lading and proof of delivery.
  • Safety Compliance: Adhere to all safety protocols, including pre- and post-trip inspections and compliance with DOT regulations.
  • Freight Handling: Assist with loading and unloading freight as necessary, using appropriate equipment like pallet jacks or lift gates.
  • Communication: Maintain clear and timely communication with dispatch regarding delays, issues, or changes in delivery routes.

Requirements
Minimum Requirements
  • Experience: 1+ years of Class A driving experience required.
  • Education: High School Diploma or GED preferred.
  • License: Valid Class A CDL with no restrictions.
  • Endorsements: Hazmat, Tanker, Doubles/Triples (or willingness to obtain within 90 days).
  • Driving Record: Clean driving record is required.
  • Screening: Ability to pass a background check and DOT drug screen
Compensation
Compensation: $29.00 - $31.00 an hour, based on experience
Work Environment
This is a full-time, at-will position with variable hours. Drivers benefit from consistent local routes and daily home time. Physical Requirements:
  • Lifting and Carrying: Ability to lift, carry, and move loads that may weigh up to 50 pounds or more, often multiple times a day.
  • Pushing and Pulling: Capability to push and pull products, sometimes using hand trucks or pallet jacks, often up to 2500 pounds with assistance.
  • Standing and Walking: Frequent standing and walking around the vehicle and in and out of customer locations throughout the day.
  • Bending, Kneeling, and Crouching: Regular bending, kneeling, or crouching for loading, unloading, and securing cargo.
  • Endurance and Stamina: Ability to sit for long hours while driving and work extended shifts, sometimes up to 10-12 hours.
  • Adaptability to Weather Conditions: Ability to work in various weather conditions, and extreme temperatures, as well as adjust driving and loading/unloading practices to ensure safety in these environments.
