Job description

Job Title: Bulk Loader

Location: Longmont, CO

Position Overview:

The Bulk Loader plays a key role in the safe and efficient movement of raw and processed materials across the facility. This position is responsible for loading bulk materials into trailers and for moving trailers throughout the yard using a shag truck. The ideal candidate will have prior experience operating heavy trucks or farm equipment and will be familiar with agricultural operations and yard logistics.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Following all company policies, including but not limited to: Safety, Food Safety, Environmental and Work Rules.
  • Operate bulk loading equipment to safely and accurately load bulk materials into trailers
  • Operate a shag (yard) truck to move trailers between designated locations within the plant or yard
  • Ensure trailers are properly spotted at docks or loading areas to meet production schedules
  • Perform pre- and post-operation inspections of trucks and equipment; report mechanical issues promptly
  • Follow all plant safety procedures and traffic flow guidelines
  • Coordinate with loaders, control room staff, and logistics teams to manage trailer flow and material movement
  • Maintain accurate logs of trailer movements, load quantities, and other operational data
  • Assist with cleaning, maintenance, and general yard work as required

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED preferred
  • Valid driver’s license required; CDL preferred but not required
  • Prior experience operating trucks, tractors, or other heavy equipment required
  • Experience in farming or agricultural operations strongly preferred
  • Ability to safely operate bulk loading systems and yard equipment
  • Strong understanding of yard safety practices and material handling procedures
  • Ability to work in outdoor environments and in varying weather conditions
  • Willingness to work overtime, rotating shifts, and weekends as needed

Working Conditions:

  • Outdoor and yard-based work environment, including exposure to dust, noise, and weather
  • Physically demanding role requiring frequent climbing, standing, and lifting (up to 50 lbs)
  • Fast-paced, team-oriented setting with emphasis on safety and efficiency

Employment Requirements:

  • Must be at least 18 years of age. Must have proficiency at reading, writing, and speaking English. Prerequisite knowledge of the Warehousing, forklift safety, Product identification, Equipment repair along with a commitment to Food Safety and Product Quality standards.

Leadership skills:

  • The successful candidate must be able to communicate in a professional and calm manner while reinforcing that correct procedures and standards are followed by themselves and other crew members. Reliability and punctual attendance are essential in this critical position.
  • Personnel in this position must also demonstrate a willingness to acquire new skills beneficial to the company by attending training that is offered by the company.
