Job description

Overview:
We are currently seeking a reliable and safety-conscious Loader to join our team. The Loader will be responsible for efficiently loading and unloading materials, always ensuring adherence to safety protocols and procedures. The ideal candidate will demonstrate physical strength, attention to detail, and effective communication skills.
Key Responsibilities:
  1. Wear personal protective equipment (PPE) and utilize proper tools as required for the safe completion of tasks.
  2. Safely climb up and down railcars, trailers, or other elevated platforms using the three-point contact technique.
  3. Lift, care, push, or pull items weighing up to 80 pounds, adhering to proper lifting techniques to prevent injury.
  4. Perform tasks that require stooping, bending, squatting, and standing for extended periods of time.
  5. Work outdoors in various weather conditions, adapting to environmental factors as necessary to ensure productivity and safety.
  6. Maintain written documentation as necessary, including completing checklists, arrivals and departures, and documenting incidents or safety concerns.
  7. Communicate verbally with the team members about the verification process, address any safety concerns, and report incidents in a timely manner.
  8. Collaborate with management to ensure efficient workplace and adherence to schedules.
  9. Follow established procedures and protocols for the safe handling and storage of materials, including hazardous substances when applicable.
  10. Participate in regular safety training sessions and adhere to company policies and procedures to maintain a safe work environment.
  11. Perform maintenance on equipment as needed.
Requirements
Qualifications:
  1. High school diploma or equivalent.
  2. Previous experience in a similar role is preferred but not required.
  3. Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing in English, including documentation and incident reporting.
  4. Physical strength and stamina to perform manual labor tasks, including lifting and carrying heavy objects.
  5. A willingness to work outdoors in all weather conditions and adapt to changing environmental factors.

  7. Ability to work independently and as part of a team, demonstrating reliability and dependability in completing assigned tasks.

Additional Requirements:
  • Willingness to undergo hands on supervised training.
  • Ability to pass pre-employment background screening and drug testing.
  • Flexibility to work varying shifts, including overtime, weekends and holidays as needed.
  • Perform housekeeping duties including bathrooms, breakrooms, trash, weed control, washing equipment, shoveling, shop areas, painting, etc. when required.
  • Participation in daily safety meetings.
