Join the Fabiano Brothers team as a Hand Loader in our Detroit warehouse, where excitement meets opportunity! As an Order Picker, you'll be right in the heart of our bustling beer distribution center.

What it's like to be an Order Picker

Hand Loaders typically work from Monday to Thursday evenings, starting between 2 p.m. and 3 p.m. They finish their shifts when all orders for the next day are picked and the job is complete, usually work 8 to 9 hours each night in a temperature-controlled warehouse. While experience with forklifts and walkie-riders is preferred, it is not mandatory.

Your responsibilities include handling cases of beer and other products weighing 50 pounds or more while ensuring safety and cleanliness. Your primary duties involve manually pulling orders from computer-generated pick sheets and preparing them for loading onto delivery trucks or staging areas. You will operate industrial equipment, such as walkie riders and forklifts, to stage pallets in accordance with Fabiano Brothers' standards. Additional tasks may be assigned to help you understand our distribution processes and contribute to warehouse efficiency and safety. You will need to read or listen to work orders and operate a stand-up or sit-down forklift; training will be provided. Our voice-picking technology systems will assist you in tracking tasks and locating products efficiently.

Essential Functions & Requirements:
  • Willing to learn and adhere to supervisor instructions.
  • Exhibit efficiency and flexibility in a warehouse setting.
  • Must safely operate equipment after completing training and obtaining authorization from Fabiano Brothers.
  • Demonstrate a strong commitment to safety and productivity.
  • Capable of repeatedly stacking, moving, and sorting products over 50 lbs.
  • Must be reliable and punctual for shifts.
  • Ability to work in a temperature-controlled setting (usually between 60-64 degrees) with some exposure to outdoor conditions.
  • Able to read and listen to work orders to locate items for moving, collecting, distributing, and shipping.
  • A high school diploma or GED is required.
  • Complete other assigned tasks and attend meetings/training sessions.
