Job description

Role Name: F5 Load Balancer Administrator / Network Security Engineer
Location: Atlanta, GA
Duration: 6 Months

Roles & Responsibilities:
  • Configure, manage, and administer F5 Load Balancer LTM & GTM.
  • Provision virtual IP configurations and load balancing methods based on application team requirements.
  • Modify and delete pool members, health monitor strings, NATs, and iRule configurations.
  • GTM Wide IP configuration between data centers.
  • Provision and validate DNS entries for VIPs and WIPs.
  • Periodic renewal of SSL certificates in F5 Load Balancer.
  • Manage and maintain the support contract with the vendor.
  • Coordinate with the vendor for part replacements and high-priority issues.
  • Assist field engineers in setting up new environments.
  • Analyze and perform bug scrub validation for newly recommended codes.
  • Triage, identify, and resolve incidents related to F5 Load Balancer and its hosted server environment.
  • Perform deep-dive analysis of recurring incidents and provide root cause analysis.

Required Technical Skills / Must-Have Qualifications:
  • 6-8+ years of experience with F5 BigIP Load Balancer.
  • Strong understanding of network protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP).
  • Familiarity with WAN/LAN environments and firewall concepts.
  • Basic scripting knowledge (e.g., iRules).

Competencies / Bonus Skills:
  • Ability to mitigate vulnerabilities through periodic firmware upgrades and hotfix patches.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills for network and server incidents.
  • Experience coordinating with vendors and managing support contracts.
