Job description

Skillforce is hiring Heavy Equipment Operators for ongoing project work in Lake Frederick, Virginia. As a Heavy Equipment Operator, you will be responsible for operating excavators, dozers, loaders, or backhoes on active job sites and keeping the grade and dirt work moving. You will work Monday through Friday with an early morning start and be home every night.

Heavy Equipment Operator Pay:

  • Up to $28.00 per hour, W-2, based on your experience level.
  • Weekly pay every Friday by direct deposit.

Heavy Equipment Operator Schedule:

  • Monday through Friday, 8 hour shifts with an early morning start.
  • Ongoing project work, and you are home every night, with no overnight travel.

Heavy Equipment Operator Responsibilities:

  • Operate heavy equipment on active job sites, including excavators, dozers, loaders, and backhoes.
  • Grade, excavate, and prep sites ahead of the build, working from site plans and grade stakes.
  • Load and move material around the site and support other trades and laborers as work progresses.
  • Inspect your equipment at the start of each shift and report any mechanical issues to your supervisor.
  • Keep your work zone clean, safe, and organized, and follow the site's daily safety briefing.

Heavy Equipment Operator Qualifications:

  • You have prior experience operating heavy equipment such as excavators, dozers, loaders, or backhoes.
  • You are comfortable running equipment solo and working safely on an active job site.
  • You can read basic site plans and grade stakes, and you communicate well with your crew and supervisor.
  • You hold a valid driver license and have reliable transportation to the job site.
  • You must pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check, and you must be authorized to work in the U.S.
